I have talked a lot about motivation, confidence, and focus and desire. All of these are important, but what about luck? Do you ever wonder why athletes wear the same 'lucky shirt' in competition such as Tiger Woods wearing his traditional red shirt on Sunday or athletes who eat the exact same meal for good luck prior to competition? Some teams even go as far as not washing their jerseys until they lose a game.

Tips For Archery Fishing

Also known as Bow fishing, this is a sport wherein a fisherman uses archery equipment to fish.

Train To Get Into The Zone And Achieve Your Peak Performance

Many studies have researched athlete's experiences in The Zone. It was one of those mornings, so quiet, you feel as though every step you take is being heard by the game you are after. This was my third trip into this area and I have seen a few nice bucks on the other trips. They just seemed to never be in range of my Golden Eagle Evolution. This time was going to be different though, I had a new plan.

Choosing the Right Archery Bow

Choosing the right archery bow is a very personal choice, but a very important one. Many factors come into play, and fortunately there are many different bows available on the market for you to choose from. Choosing the correct bow will greatly increase your comfort while shooting, and will increase your accuracy.

Archery Arrow Rest

With all the technology in archery going on today, one of the most important devices on your compound bow is the arrow rest. Many bowhunters have problems while trying to perfect their arrow flight when using broadheads, even though their arrows have been spined correctly and there are no mechanical problems with their bow. You've paper tested your arrow and you cannot get rid of the wobble. The problem, more often than not, is contact with your arrow fletching with your arrow rest. Maybe you have tried using smaller fletching, but then your broadhead tends to steer your arrow when using a saddle type of arrow rest.

Mid-October Lull (Bowhunting)

Have you ever wondered, while bowhunting deer in October, what happened to all the deer that you were seeing in early October? After about the first ten days in October the deer that you were seeing have disappeared. Why you ask? There are a few reasons for this, but first I need to tell you that an average deer eats about 8 to 11 pounds of food each day and about 1 ½ to 2 tons of food each year. Most of their food comes from the natural food sources, such as; acorns, leaves, pine needles, wild berries and lichens. This is a key to pinpointing deer movements during the slow times in middle October. 60% of a deer's diet comes from natural food, which most hunters forget about and never learn how to identify when deer crave these natural foods. In the Northern forests, lichens become a favorite food source in mid to late autumn when the white oak acorns start to fall, which deer prefer over red oak acorns until all the white oak acorns have been eaten. Then the deer move to the red oaks to feast on their acorns.

Scoring White-tail Bucks

Many archery deer hunters today have set higher personal standards as far as hunting trophy bucks. They seem to be putting more demands on themselves simply to locate a record buck and to harvest it, only to have it put into the book of records. There is one problem with this theory, record bucks are far and few between. Harvesting a record white-tail buck while bowhunting is like winning the lottery, rare, but it can happen and does happen every year.

What to Look for in Archery Products

If you are a hunter or a target shooter, you are aware of the importance of acquiring the right archery products. I have been an archer for at least fifteen years, so I know what I am talking about. Before I had even tried different archery products, I was already making homemade bow and arrows for faux hunting. I really enjoyed that game. I never did hit a moving target, but I got pretty good at hitting tin cans from more then ten feet away in our backyard.
